WHERE IN THE WORLD.....These are actual questions that have been asked and we are here to help clear up the information about Lake Anna. Q. I want to come to Lake Anna next month and was wondering where I check in. A. Lake Anna is not an exclusive community, as you may find with Lake of the Woods or Fawn Lake. It spans 3 counties, so your destination may be the State Park here, or one of the many businesses around the lake, or maybe one of the many marinas. Q. We are wondering if there is a place to camp at Lake Anna? A. Yes there are several places you can camp. Lake Anna State Park, Dukes Creek Marina and Christopher Run are a few of the places. Q. We are looking for an apartment complex to rent. A. At this time there aren't any apartment complexes around the lake, but if you move out into Spotsylvania or Louis or Orange, away from the lake there are plenty. There are plans in the future for an apartment complex, but a date is not available at this point. Q. We are looking at buying some run down property and fixing it up to sell at a profit. A. Me too!! Actually, finding a fixer up at Lake Anna is a tough one to find. And when you do, unless you are doing all the work yourself, your profit margin is going to be very small. Not to say give up on the idea, there is always a chance. Q. I was going to buy a home at Lake Anna, but don't quite understand the explanation of the private and public side. A. Private (aka warm side) is just that, private, only land owners have access to the part of the lake. The lake is cut off at parts by damns. The public side (aka cold side) has all the marina's that are there for public use. The stores, gas stations, etc.. Q. Are there tours of Lake Anna? A. That is a yes and no answer. There are real estate companies that will take you out by boat to show you the lake, but of course that is for those interested in buying on the lake, or at least seriously considering it. After all gas costs a lot for boats! At one point there was a company that did Lake Anna Cruises, but have been unable to find them. If you are them reading this, please let me know and I will add your name to this question. email Q. Why do all the websites keep stating how far Lake Anna is from Richmond, Fredericksburg and DC? A. Because you have a good portion of people that want to live at beautiful Lake Anna, but must keep working in a metropolitan city for the pay. So they are trying to show you that it is not only possible to do both but also that it is highly recommended. Have a question? Please feel free to write us. |
